It’s Getting Cold

It’s Getting Cold

For me, camping is my way of de-stressing. Thus, I take every opportunity that I find to do it, be it in spring, summer, fall or winter. I think it is the best way for a person to have some alone time, away from the concrete jungles that our cities have become.

However, camping is hard when you are alone. It is much better when done by two people or more. Thankfully, I met my husband at a camping retreat many years ago and I guess our love for the wild was one of the things that drew us closer. Thus, most of the time we camp together as a family, our two sons included.

Camping requires the best gear such as you can see on https://campingstyle.co.uk/best-3-season-sleeping-bag-reviews/. If you do not have the best gear, you will face the elements without protection. You can be sure you do not want to do that. Our current sleeping bag has seen better days and we think it is time to get a new one. That’s why we are shopping for a double person sleeping bag.

Having a double sleeping bag is advantageous because they are quite spacious. You will have a lot of room to wiggle around before you get the perfect sleeping position. Sharing a sleeping bag with your partner ensures that you keep each other warm. Two people are better than one, even when camping in the cold. One big benefit of having a double sleeping bag is that you can reduce the number of items on your hiking gear list.

One would think that buying a sleeping bag is as simple as deciding between the down fill and the synthetic fill one. However, it is far different from that. You have to bear more things in mind.

Some of the things you need to check before buying a double camping bag include:

Inner lining – Polyester or fine nylon is the best for lining sleeping bags. Cotton or flannel are also popular lining materials but they trap moisture when it is cold, thus they are not recommended.

Outer fabric or shell – The best fabrics are nylon and dryloft since they are breathable and water resistant.

Two-sided zips – These ensure that you don’t disturb your partner when you wake up.

Hoods – Get a double sleeping bag with hoods since much of the body heat is lost through your head.

Here are two double sleeping bags that I have reviewed for you:
